The American entrepreneur Dismisses Spurs Acquisition Offer Following Expression of Interest
The long-serving executive oversaw Spurs' relocation to the club's new home in recent years.
American tech entrepreneur Earick has rejected submitting an official acquisition offer for Tottenham.
Tottenham had previously “firmly declined” an unofficial approach from a syndicate spearheaded by the American last period and insisted the club was unavailable for purchase.
However British acquisition regulations dictated that, following an expression of interest rejected, Earick's consortium needed to make an offer by late October or announce they would not do so.
Official word of the choice was made in a statement released by Tottenham to the stock exchange, indicating the organization is “not in an takeover phase.”
Earick shared an snapshot of the release on social media, remarking: “It was a privilege discussing with Tottenham Hotspur and the Lewis family's agents over the past few months.
“I have great respect for the club, its management, and its followers, and wish them only the best.”
Tottenham's directors acknowledged the group for its “positive engagement” in discussions and for “respecting the clear position” of the owners that the organization is not for sale.
The entrepreneur is a one-time music presenter who also worked in space technology for NASA before establishing the innovation company, which specializes in technology, media, sport and leisure.
His approach was the third inquiry turned down by the club's board since the abrupt resignation of executive chairman Daniel Levy in the fall.
On 8 September, the team turned down proposals from former Newcastle United shareholder Staveley's PCP International Finance Limited and a consortium headed by Roger Kennedy and Ng through Firehawk Holdings.
Daniel Levy and his relatives control about a significant stake of Enic Sports & Developments Holdings Ltd – which has an majority shareholding in Spurs.
He was the the league's most enduring chair and is estimated to have earned over £50 million during his nearly 25 years in the role.
However he was also the focus of regular protests by the club's followers, particularly last season as Premier League performances were unsatisfactory.
Tottenham claimed their first trophy in 17 years when they beat Manchester United in last season's Europa League final.
