The Prince of Wales Will Participate in UN Climate Conference in Brazil
Prince William is scheduled to attend the United Nations climate conference in South America next month, according to palace sources.
The father and son duo made a joint appearance on Thursday night at a gathering ahead of the environmental conference, which is set to be held in the Amazonian city of Belém.
Father and son were in attendance at the museum gathering, marking an noteworthy combined presence at a climate summit preparatory event organized in partnership with the British authorities.
Environmental Advocacy Dedication
The King has been a long-time champion of biodiversity preservation - and the Prince of Wales has inherited the mission, with his own environmental prize initiative, which will be held in Brazil before the COP summit.
Palace insiders have portrayed William's involvement at the upcoming climate summit as taking on an significant responsibility in "climate diplomacy".
Recent Engagements
The King and Prince of Wales, arriving together in the state Bentley, were welcomed guests including conservation experts, scientists, environmental activists, diplomats and government officials.
This involvement included speaking alongside French leader Macron of the French Republic and other world leaders at the Marine Economy Conference in the Principality of Monaco during the current year.
Environmental Prize Connection
The COP30 summit will align with the prince's own climate innovation prizes, which will finish in the Brazilian city the previous day he participates in the COP summit on November 6th.
Last week the William referred to the prize competitors as "heroes of our time".
Monarch's Environmental Record
The monarch has been a key figure at previous climate summits, providing the introductory remarks in Dubai for COP28, including the observation: "The Earth does not belong to us, we belong to the Earth".
